Barbi Benton began her career as model, earning herself spreads in Playboy magazine at the tender age of 18. Before she was working for Playboy, Benton was better known as Barbara Klein, but when she began dating Playboy impressario, Hugh Hefner, who was nearly 30 years her senior, he took a disliking to Barbi's Semitic sounding name. It was Hugh who convinced Barbara to become Barbi.
