Channing is most commonly recognized for her role as hard-talking Betty Rizzo in hit musical Grease. Following the success of the movie, Channing went on to star as First Lady Abbey Bartlet on The West Wing. In 1975, Channing co-starred with Warren Beatty and Jack Nicholson in Mike Nichols' The Fortune. Although Channing was expected to make it big from the movie and she even considered this some of the best work of her career, the movie did not do well at the box office.
